304/304L seamless austenitic stainless steel is the most familiar and most frequently used alloy in the stainless steel family. This alloy may be considered for a wide variety of applications and exhibits, good corrosion resistance, ease of fabrication, excellent formability and high strength with low weight. The 304L is the lower carbon variant for better weldebility. This alloy has very good impact strength on room temperature and on cryogenic temperatures down to min 200°C (-325°F) and up to about 550°C (1020°F).
The 304L is used for a wide range of industrial applications; for example heat exchanges, pipelines, cooling & heating equipment, condensers in the chemical, petrochemical, nuclear power, pulp & paper, fertilizer, food, leverage and pharmaceutical industries.
